I wonder,
Whether 'we' were really ever there,
Or it was just a 'you' and a 'me',
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder,
Whether love ever existed between us,
Or we were just being 'friends' and 'buddy',
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder,
Whether we both were ever dreaming together,
Or you were dying to get free,
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder...
Whether 'we' were really ever there,
Or it was just a 'you' and a 'me',
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder,
Whether love ever existed between us,
Or we were just being 'friends' and 'buddy',
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder,
Whether we both were ever dreaming together,
Or you were dying to get free,
Which I was too blind to see.
I wonder...
Nice composition. Now, I know why they call 'love is blind'

I keep telling people that I do not appreciate poetry cos I am incapable of it. Rarely I find one which strikes a chord in me. This was most certainly one of them. Like that central thought about seeking oneness in closeness - and, in this case, wondering whether it is at all there.
ReplyDeletethank u CS, thats again the most generous comment I have got on any of my post but I keep telling myself that I cant write poetry and I still do.
ReplyDeleteRelationships are complex and it is such a beautifully crafted poem. There is a hint of honesty to it.
ReplyDeleteIn love it always happens that by the tainted vision rendered by our fantasies, we forget to see what is there in our plain sight. But love happens when both of them has there vision completely blurred and when both are too blind to see anything.
ReplyDeleteLoved it.
